A good speech gets the point you are trying to make across to the audience. A good speech consists of ways to keep the audience engaged. Most importantly, a good speech makes eye contact and shows the audience that you know what you are talking about instead of reading while reading with much confidence. Pronunciation of words and being able to stand straight up while talking in front of a big crowd is very important as well. The audience as well as these things presented above, has to be able to understand what you (the speaker) is saying as well, not mumbling is key in this situation
Throughout my "I Am" Speech I think I mastered most of these things. However, I did speak a little too quickly for my likings. I think if I slowed down a little while reading it would have definitely been a better presented speech but as a whole, I think the pace I spoke at was pretty good but has potential to be better in my next speech. I also think instead of reading full sentences at a time without making eye contact with the audience, I should have read a sentence and then looked up and then read another sentence and then looked up which in this case would have slowed down the speech a little more as well as allowed me to make more eye contact with the audience. I think my posture was well, I stood up straight but also had some room to become a little more relaxed while being up there. I think my confidence while speaking could have also been a tiny bit better. By having confidence when speaking, it allows the speaker as a whole to present the speech better in every aspect and catergory of skills when public speaking. However, overall I think for my first speech in this class, all around it was a good one with some minor errors along the way that could be fixed during my next speech and most importantly during the rest of my speeches throughout this semester in Public Speaking
